Project: Server Room Equipment - Kigali


The Client – City of Kigali
City of Kigali is the Capital City of Rwanda; it has a surface area of 730 km2. It is composed of three Districts, namely: Gasabo, Kicukiro and Nyarugenge, 35 Sectors, 161 Cells and 1183 Villages.

City of Kigali authority has embarked on good governance promotion whereby community will be involved and this will be accompanied by giving values on good service delivered and promoting entire welfare of the citizens in general.

This service charter is embedded by important principles such as working in transparency, quality, and quick services and also giving room for opinions from the beneficiaries. This client charter will be abided by all service sectors concerned such as City of Kigali and its Districts.

Solution
Symphony’s solution was based on designing a room used to store, power and operate computer servers and their associated components, this room which typical houses several physical servers lined up together in different form factors, such as rack mounted, or in tower or blade enclosures.

This server was designed with additional/backup power and cooling supply and protective systems.

Result
The final result with this project, city of kigali now have:

  1. Managed Power Distribution
  2. Managed Power Distribution
  3. System-wide backups and administration
  4. Central file repository and sharing documents etc
